Saturn is a lino print that explores my inner world through symbolism, music, and personal space. For this project, I focused on my spirit animal, the raven, a creature I deeply relate to. The raven represents mystery, intelligence, and transformation. It is observant, independent, and often misunderstood, qualities that reflect how I see myself. It is also strongly connected to creativity, intuition, and memory, which made it a meaningful symbol to work with.

The main image represents my bedroom, a space where I feel most comfortable and free to express myself. Objects such as the record player, large speakers, vinyls, and posters reflect my love for music and my nostalgic personality. Music is an important emotional outlet for me, a way to express feelings I cannot always put into words. The raven exists quietly within this space, echoing that idea of silent strength and emotional depth.

The print is made up of three layers. The first layer is the key image printed in blue, symbolizing calmness, depth, and introspection. The second layer includes the words “Life’s Better on Saturn” along with small musical notes, printed in white to create a soft and peaceful contrast. The quote, taken from the song “Saturn” by SZA, reflects themes of escape, reflection, and searching for peace, which strongly connect to my emotional and creative state. The third layer is a red hypnotic circular pattern, representing the rhythm, energy, and intensity of music. It pulls the viewer into the scene, balancing the calm blue tones with warmth and movement.

Through Saturn, I wanted viewers to step into my personal space and experience how my surroundings reflect my thoughts, emotions, and spiritual side. The raven, music, and layered patterns come together as a portrait of who I am, quiet, emotional, reflective, and constantly transforming.
